The inception of this controversy was an agreement entered into on May 12, 1954, between Dredge Corporation and Wells Cargo, Inc., concerning mining claims in Clark County, Nevada. The parties have different notions about the meaning of that agreement and their rights thereunder. Dredge acquired the mining claims and wished to patent them under the United States mining laws.
