Delmar O. Seevers appeals from the decision of the Patent Office Board of Appeals affirming the examiner's rejection of claims 16 and 17, the sole remaining claims of appellant's application1 for "Analyzing Water for Hydrocarbons."

The application discloses that the claimed invention:
