Appellant Michael William Thaw and an alleged confederate, Donald Hassel, were charged in a three-count indictment with (1) mail fraud, 18 U.S.C.A. § 1341 (1958); (2) inducing a person to travel in interstate commerce as a part of a scheme to defraud, 18 U.S.C.A. § 2314 (1958); and (3) conspiracy to violate the above-mentioned sections.
