OPINION BY MR. JUSTICE ROBERTS, March 16, 1965:

William Sanders was indicted for the December 29, 1959 murder of Dorothy Thompson and counsel were appointed by the court to represent him. With the assistance of counsel, Sanders entered a general plea of guilty before a court en banc on December 27, 1960, and the court immediately heard testimony to determine the degree of guilt and the punishment.1 By its opinion and order of May 29, 1961...
