The petitioner, until recently a lieutenant with the New York City Police Department, is in custody upon a third state court judgment of conviction for contempt,1 arising out of his refusal to answer a question put to him by a grand jury investigating alleged police corruption. He seeks his release by Federal writ of habeas corpus on the ground that his rights under the Fifth and Sixth Amendments were violated...
