Pursuant to the statutes, the plaintiff appealed to the Superior Court from an appraisal of $30,000 damages by the defendant on July 13, 1956, for the taking of 2.71 acres of the plaintiff's land in Stratford for the Connecticut Turnpike. The matter was referred to a state referee, who, after fully hearing the parties, submitted his report to the court.
