The jury verdict, on which the judgment was based, was that the defendants-appellees (hereafter called the defendants) were entitled to just compensation of $850 for certain property taken by the Department of Public Works and Buildings (hereafter called the Department) and a further sum of $28,150.00 for damage to remaining property owned by defendants...
