Defendant was indicted for the crime of breaking jail, as defined in section 745.8, Code 1962, I.C.A. After an attorney was appointed to represent defendant he pleaded guilty to the offense charged and was sentenced to an indeterminate term not to exceed one year in the men's penitentiary at Fort Madison, the sentence to commence at the expiration of the jail sentence he was serving at the time of the escape, all as provided by said Code section.
