The defendant landowner appeals as inadequate the trial award in this expropriation proceeding.

The plaintiff Department expropriated for highway improvement purposes approximately 1/10th acre from the front of the defendant Lancon's property. Before the taking, the defendant's tract, a rural residential homesite, contained approximate one-half acre in total area, and it fronted on a gravelled highway...
