Plaintiff brought a collection action against defendant Pacific Whaling Company for $1,400, and then served a writ of attachment and notice of garnishment upon Carl. The notice referred specifically to the proceeds of an insurance policy on the vessel Sheila. The answer to the notice stated that no funds owing Pacific Whaling were held.
