Petitioner, Van Norman White, is presently incarcerated in Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, Louisiana. He was tried by a jury on September 23 and 24, 1963, found guilty of simple burglary, and sentenced to serve seven years at the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
