This is an indictment which charges the defendant with knowingly having in his possession three reels of obscene motion picture film for the purpose of loan in violation of G.L. 1956, § 11-31-1, as amended. The case was tried on the merits to a justice of the superior court and a jury which returned a verdict of guilty. Thereupon the defendant moved for a new trial which was denied.
