For convenience the two appeals with which we are here concerned were heard together. The appeal in case number 1274 is from a judgment convicting the defendant, Reid, of the crime of first degree manslaughter and sentencing him therefor, and the appeal in case number 1286 is from an order of the Common Pleas Court overruling the defendant's motion for new trial made on the ground of newly discovered evidence...
