WADE, Justice:

Defendant Pappacostas appeals from a jury verdict convicting him of grand larceny of the Salt Lake Pehrson Hardware Store on January 7, 1964. On opening the store that morning, holes were found in the walls; boxes containing guns and other goods the night before were found empty; and the store torn up and the goods taken. The business records of the store showed that a number 357 magnum pistol worth $115 had not been previously sold but was missing...
