On 10 July 1961, Tensaw Land and Timber Company filed an ejectment suit against Annie Covington, Wesley Covington, and Woodie Weaver, seeking to recover the possession of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section Three, Township Three North, Range One West in Washington County, Alabama.

On 26 July 1961, on motion of the defendants, the cause was transferred to the equity docket.
