On August 4, 1960, plaintiffs instituted this suit in tort for damages for the death of their son resulting from an automobile accident which occurred in Lafayette Parish on August 9, 1959. The suit was filed in Acadia Parish against J. V. Cunningham, who was alleged to be a resident of Acadia Parish. Service of citation was never made on J. V. Cunningham. The sheriff made a return showing he had attempted to serve the defendant on August 8, 1960, but...
