DAVIS, Judge:

Beginning in 1906 as a midshipman, plaintiff served actively in the Navy until November 1919 when he entered the inactive naval reserve. He left the naval reserve in November 1923. In April 1942 he became a lieutenant commander in the Coast Guard reserve and served actively until 1950. Because he was required to leave the reserve when he reached 62 (on July 20, 1950), he applied in that year for retirement under what is now 10 U.S.C. § 6323 (then...
