The plaintiff's testatrix, Elizabeth E. Playford, died October 22, 1960, at the age of 85, leaving a simple will dated March 13, 1957, which was duly admitted to probate on March 2, 1961. In it, the testatrix made four bequests of $25 each to four friends, and then disposed of the residue as follows: "Third: I give, devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, of every kind and nature and wherever situated...
