This is an action to quiet title to submerged lands, some of which underlie a portion of Yakutat Bay, and the rest of which constitute a part of the continental shelf immediately seaward of the Bay. Yakutat Bay is near the northern end of the Alaska panhandle, and is approximately seventeen geographical miles wide at its entrance.
