The plaintiffs in error, who hereinafter will be referred to as defendants, were convicted of grand larceny and sentenced to serve not more than 6 years in the State Penitentiary. The Judge overruled defendants' motions for new trial. They have perfected their appeals to this Court and have filed numerous assignments of error. Prior to the occasion which gave rise to this prosecution, the defendants were members of the Memphis Police Department.<...
