Defendant Anna L. Stebnow, as administratrix of the estate of Basil Stebnow, appeals a $6,500 judgment rendered against her for loans allegedly made by plaintiff W.C. Goss to decedent David Stebnow during the latter's lifetime. The plaintiff was permitted to establish the alleged indebtedness on the basis of three 1959 cancelled checks which bore no inscription indicating the purpose for which they were given.
