The defendant, Zannie Roberson, pleaded not guilty to indictments returned by the grand jury of Cook County charging him with the crimes of murder and assault with intent to commit murder. The indictments were consolidated for trial and the defendant waived his right to trial by jury. The court found him guilty on both charges and he was sentenced to the penitentiary for a term...
