Masao Yamaura appeals from a decision of the Board of Appeals affirming the examiner's rejection of claims 3 and 4 in appellant's patent application1 for "Glassfibre-Tube-Type Plate for Electric Storage Cell and Battery." No claims have been allowed.

The appealed claims read as follows:

"3. A method for making porous tubes for electric storage cells comprising the steps of placing a strip of glass fiber...
