Lloyd Odin Lawson (hereafter the appellant) was convicted under an indictment charging him with violating the Universal Military Training and Service Act, 50 U.S.C. App. § 462.1 He was tried in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey with a jury and was sentenced to a term of two years imprisonment.
