PALMORE, Judge.

This is an automobile negligence case in which the defendant, Collett, appeals from a judgment on a verdict awarding the plaintiff, Taylor, $16,171.28 for personal injuries. The only question is whether the defendant was entitled to a directed verdict on the ground that (1) there was no substantial evidence of negligence on his part or (2) the plaintiff was negligent as a matter of law.
