Plaintiff, who was defendant in State v. Woodson, 244 Iowa 1262, 59 N.W.2d 556, filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus in Lee County District Court. He alleged he was unlawfully restrained of his liberty by defendant, Warden John E. Bennett, of the Iowa State Penitentiary at Fort Madison.
