This is an original proceeding seeking a writ of prohibition, commenced by the district attorney of Washoe County against the Board of Parole Commissioners and the warden of the state prison. Petitioner asserts that the board granted parole to three persons convicted of second degree murder who had been sentenced to a term of ten years "which may extend to life." NRS 200.030 (4).
