On July 28, 1960, plaintiff issued its policy of insurance on the newly constructed residence of James and Gladys Bates which was located on River Ridge Road in Louisiana, Missouri. On March 19, 1961, an explosion occurred in said residence which (together with resulting fire) substantially destroyed the building and its contents. Plaintiff paid the Bateses $22,566 by reason of said loss and Mr. and Mrs. Bates executed a subrogation receipt whereby...
