The defendant, after a trial to the jury, was convicted of breaking and entering in violation of General Statutes § 53-76 and was sentenced to prison. From that judgment he has appealed. The basic claims of error center on the admission in evidence, over the objection of the defendant that they were the fruits of an illegal search, of a small canvas bag which he was carrying, and its contents,
