The complaint alleges in substance that: Defendant Leon Kanable was plaintiff's town treasurer from 1953 to 1960. Defendant Travelers Indemnity Company, a Connecticut insurance corporation, was surety for defendant Kanable as town treasurer under certain bonds as prescribed by sec. 70.67 (1), Stats., for the years 1954 through 1960.
