The plaintiff, John A. Covell, of Chittenden, Vermount, brought an action in tort based on a charge of false imprisonment against the defendant, Daniel J. McCarthy, a Rutland City Police Officer, in the Rutland County Court. A jury trial in December, 1961, resulted in a verdict and judgment for the defendant.
