SNEAD, Justice.

This action was instituted by John Henry Spradlin, plaintiff, to recover damages for personal injuries received when he, a pedestrian, was struck while crossing a street by an automobile operated by Lloyd Edward Smith, defendant. A jury trial resulted in a verdict of $20,000 for the plaintiff on which the trial court entered judgment.
