In June of 1957 plaintiff, F. Koehnen, Ltd., purchased the building facing Kamehameha Avenue between Waianuenue Street and Shipman Street, in Hilo, from American Factors, Ltd. Extensive renovations were planned and undertaken and the company was scheduled to move into the building in time to open for trade on September 6.
