The defendant Willie Black was convicted in the Court of General Sessions for Hampton County of the offense of assualt with intent to ravish and sentenced to death. He has appealed, alleging that the lower court erred in refusing his motions (1) for an examination at the State Hospital to determine his mental condition, (2) for a continuance, and (3) for a directed verdict of not guilty.
