This is a petition for a writ of habeas corpus preferred by the petitioner who is now serving a life sentence in the adult correctional institutions of which the respondent is the warden. The sentence was imposed by a justice of the superior court on April 15, 1955 after the petitioner had been allowed to file a plea of nolo contendere to an indictment for murder in the second degree.
