The defendant herein was charged with a "violation of the Fremont Municipal Code1 section 8-22101a, in that said defendant did ... wilfully ... erect, place and maintain a sign in an R-G Garden Apartment Residence zoning district that did not comply with the requirements of section 8-2802 of the said code in that the said sign was of an area greater than one square foot."
