The plaintiff filed this suit in which he alleged the defendant insurance company was indebted unto him in the full sum of $2000.00 under the terms of a policy insuring him against loss or damage by fire and lightning or other perils to a one story dwelling situated and located in Lake, Louisiana, which said dwelling had been totally destroyed by a wind and rain storm on or about October 10, 1958.
