Claimant, aged 65 years, had been employed as a carpenter for construction companies since 1924. In the mid and late Summer of 1959 while using the tools of his trade he experienced pain in his hands and detected that his right one "crumbled up" and opened with difficulty. On September 26, 1959 he consulted Dr. Graubard about his condition who upon examination found claimant to be afflicted in both hands with an occupational disease known as Dupuytren's contracture.
