On June 30, 1953 the District Director of Internal Revenue in Brooklyn, New York, whose jurisdiction included Nassau County, wherein the defendant Mary Dwyer resided, made an assessment against her in the sum of $116,132.60 covering the unpaid balance of her income taxes for the years 1946, 1947 and 1948, together with interest and penalties.
