This is an appeal by Charles Hammett, defendant below, from an order granting the plaintiff a new trial. The order granting the new trial did not give the judge's reasons therefor. In a series of cases our Supreme Court has held that in the absence of the judge's reason for granting a new trial, such an order must be reversed, except under certain conditions. See Kent v.
