In 1952, the plaintiff and his wife purchased certain real property in Kettle Falls, Washington, for which they paid $11,600. A mortgage was placed on the property, and in 1957, the balance due on this mortgage had been reduced to approximately $7,000. At that time, the plaintiff was in arrears in his payments, and the mortgagees were threatening to foreclose. On the advice of his attorney, the plaintiff sought a purchaser and found one in the person...
