The grand jury returned an indictment charging defendant in Counts VI and XIII with abortion in violation of section 274 of the Penal Code, and with conspiracy, with several codefendants, to commit abortions, in violation of section 182, subdivision 1, of the Penal Code. As to the conspiracy, 12 overt acts were charged. A prior conviction of abortion and one of conspiracy to commit abortion were alleged...
