This is an appeal from an order denying defendants' alternative motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or for a new trial.

Two suits were consolidated for trial. Both were brought by Fred M. Kellett, one as guardian ad litem on behalf of his minor daughter, Carolyn N. Kellett, to recover for injuries arising out of an automobile accident, and one in his own behalf to recover for necessary expenses incurred and for loss of her services...
