Plaintiff, Anna Otto, brings this action for damages for alleged defamation. In her amended complaint she alleges that defendant, Charles T. Miller Hospital, a corporation in St. Paul, Minnesota, with the intent and willful design to injure plaintiff, through its employees uttered slanderous statements in the hearing of others to the effect that she was an arsonist, causing fires in defendant hospital.
