Albert William Andreas, Jr., a passenger in defendant's plane, was killed when the plane crashed in the vicinity of Richmond, Virginia, on November 8, 1961. The flight originated in Columbia, South Carolina and from there proceeded to Newark, New Jersey, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland, at each stop picking up passengers bound for Columbia, South Carolina.
