Appellee, Ozan Lumber Company, instituted an action for damages against appellant, Louisiana-Nevada Transit Company, and F. S. McGee. The action was filed as the result of a fire alleged to have been caused by the negligence of appellant and McGee, the fire resulting in damage to timber land owned by Ozan. The Circuit Court, sitting as a jury, awarded judgment against Louisiana-Nevada and McGee in the amount of $2,388,1
