Plaintiff Strauss, a passenger, was injured on May 12, 1960 when an airplane manufactured by defendant Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc. and operated by defendant Delta Air Lines, Inc. encountered turbulence over Miami, Florida. Strauss was injured when he was thrown from his seat notwithstanding that his seat belt was fastened.
