The respondent was brought to trial on an information charging him with the crime of first degree arson. Evidence for the State included a confession which was stricken from the record upon motion by the respondent at the end of the State's case. This was followed by a motion for a directed verdict of not guilty. This motion was granted. The respondent then moved that judgment be entered on the verdict.
