The appellant Alcala and four other men were accused by an information of the crime of robbery. (Pen. Code, § 211.) In a second count they were charged with the crime of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury. (Pen. Code, § 245.) The charges against one defendant, Joseph Garcia, were dismissed. In a trial by jury the appellant Alcala and defendant Figueroa were found guilty of robbery in the first degree and of the offense...
