Howard Fields, hereinafter called defendant, was tried and convicted of the crime of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony. From the conviction and sentence he appeals.

The facts are that the defendant operated a transient labor camp in Cochise County, Arizona. On March 16, 1961, Cecil Alexander and six other men came to the camp looking for work. No work was available, but the defendant agreed to feed and house them on credit...
